Introduction

Component you require

  • BananaPI
  • 8gb Micro SD card
  • USB Webcam
  • Micro usb cable
  • 5v Power supply
      # sudo raspi-config 
  • After executing this command ,it will allow you to enable SSH and Camera . Now connect usb camera with pi and reboot the pi.
  • Now you need to check your IP address, for that type below command in command window
      # ifconfig
  • And your IP address should be in the wlan0 section that pops up, right under Link encap:ethernet. In our case the IP Address is 192.168.1.103

Installing and Setting Up Motion.

  • Type below command to update your pi
      #sudo apt-get update
      # sudo apt-get upgrade
  • Download motion
      # sudo apt-get install motion
  • Now you need to edit motion file ,so for that type below command in terminal
      # sudo nano /etc/motion/motion.conf 
  • Find the following lines and update them to the following. (“press ctrl+w and type keyword to search in motion file”)

daemon on

stream_localhost off

webcontrol_localhost off

stream_port 8081

  • Now to start live streaming you need to open terminal again and need to write below command
      # sudo motion restart
  • To stop live streaming, type
      # sudo motion stop  
  • ┬áNow you should be able to check out the Webcam Stream at the IP address of our Pi. To start motion as mentioned above open your browser and go to the following address.
  192.168.0.102:8081 (here instead 192.168.1.103 you need to write your IP)
